Andover Veteran's Memorial to Lake Street Leg
Today was a gorgeous (but windy again) day, so despite a fairly tight schedule, we knew we had to get out there and check another mile off our big journey. We did it with a quick 2 mile out-and-back trip from the Veteran's Memorial in Andover, CT. Two more similar walks and we will have completed the entire Hop River Trail from Bolton to Willimantic.

Above and below, a couple pretty views from along the trail. The Christmas Tree Farm gave me a chance to add to our Ecology lessons and discuss monocultures and other damaging ways humans change the landscape. (We also talked about the positive impacts that humans can have on biodiversity with permaculuture and creating edge.)
Below, our turn-around point for today. That mile went by fast! In both directions!
27 miles walked, 2973 miles to go!!!
