Parker's Bridge Road to Hop River Road, Columbia Leg

This may be the last truly comfortable day of the spring, warm enough to be without jackets, yet breezy enough to keep the bugs off, so of course we hit the trail. (It's what we do!)  We did a little 3 mile out-and-back walk in Columbia, Connecticut, building on our other legs of the East Coast Greenway that coincide with the Hop River Trail, adding 1.5 miles to our total.  It was a gem of a leg, boasting a vast array of local and migratory bird species -- we definitely didn't break any land speed records, stopping frequently to identify and watch our feathered friends going about the business of being birds.

Above, below and throughout, the Hop River featured largely in this leg, and words are unnecessary to describe the loveliness of this bit of trail.

I completely forgot to grab a photo at the end of this leg.   So I'll just leave off here, about 1/4 mile from the parking area on Hop River Road.

28.5 miles walked, 2971.5 miles to go!
