Hampton Rd to Brooklyn Rd, Abington, Leg

Back to a normal-length post, and back to walking the East Coast Greenway again after almost a month's rest for my sore knee.  The injury to my quadroceps tendon from early this summer has pretty much resolved, I'm just left with my old meniscus nemesis, which I refer to as my "usual knee problem" because it crops up every so often and causes chaos.  And of course, there's still a bunch of strengthening work for not only my knee mechanics, but my entire body, since I've been moving less and differently since the end of May.  But I feel like I'm back on track now after doing way too much walking in August!

We walked this tiny half-mile bit of trail last weekend, on September 18th.  Our goal for the fall is to get out on the trail once a week and chip away at the Connecticut portions, slowly building back up to at least 3-mile legs before we take a longer, more walking-intense, road trip to walk distant legs.   In this leg, we parked at the trail parking lot on Hampton Road and walked to Brooklyn Rd and back.  We toyed with the idea of adding a 2nd short leg onto our day, but decided to err on the side of caution, got some icecream at nearby We-Lik-It in Abington, and called it a day.

It was a nice way to ease back into our journey, and not even enough walking to break a sweat on a warm end of summer day.  This eeks our totals up to 56.5 miles walked, 108.5 miles traversed, and 2891.5 miles to go!
