Chewink Rd, Chaplin to Parker Rd, Hampton Leg
Oops! I never hit post on this although I wrote it last weekend! On the 24th of September friends joined us for a 2 mile leg of the East Coast Greenway on a lovely autumn day! We started at Chewink Rd in Chaplin and head north, ending at Parker Rd in Hampton. I was trying out a new knee brace today. Disappointingly, it did not do the job, so it was a very careful leg for me. (Since then I have purchased a different brace which is much much better and is allowing me to walk nearly 2 miles without discomfort.)
One of our side-quests for this walk was to locate downed White Birch trees so we could collect bark for crafting.
The Map Man peeled a nice quantity of usable bark from several downed trees for us. That should keep us busy for a bit!
58.5 miles walked, 110.5 miles traversed, and 2889.5 miles to go!
